EU Fees

EU Fees

All students admitted to AIT will be assessed for fees. Students who are liable for EU fee rates are liable for both the tuition fees and student contribution fee.

 

In general:

Applicants who can apply for EU fee rate:

  • EU/EEA/Swiss nationals who have been tax resident in the EU/EEA/Switzerland for at least 3 of the past 5 years.
  • Non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationals who have been tax resident in the EU/EEA/Switzerland for at least 3 of the past 5 years.

Applicants who cannot apply for EU fee rate:

  • EU/EEA/Swiss Nationals who have not been tax-resident in the EU/EEA/Switzerland for a minimum of 3 of the past 5 years
  • Non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationals who have not been tax resident in the EU/EEA/Switzerland for a minimum of 3 of the past 5 years
  • Non-EU nationals resident on the basis of a student visa

 

(a) For students aged under 23 on 1 September of year of entry:

Parent(s) must have been ordinarily resident (that is - principal residence for the purpose of taxation) in an EU member state for three of the five years prior to students entry,

AND

Student must have been ordinarily resident in an EU member state for three of the five years prior to entry.

 

(b) For students aged 23 or over on 1st September of year of entry:

Student must have been ordinarily resident as a tax-payer (that is - principal residence for the purpose of taxation) in an EU member state for three of the five years prior to entry - see Note above. Note: Any period of residence as a student, or as holder of a student visa, is not included in the assessment of years of residence.

 

For undergraduate registration:

EU fees may apply for students born in Ireland who do not meet the normal residency requirements but who received all their primary and secondary education in Ireland and have no previous third level attendance.

For postgraduate registration:

EU fees may apply for students born in Ireland who do not meet the normal residency requirements but who received all of their primary, secondary and third level education in Ireland.
